Optimization of Organic Mulches Thickness Improves Soil Moisture Retention under Controlled Conditions

چکیده
Organic mulch can improve the moisture, chemical composition, dust, and dust suppression of soil, beautify environment. In view rapid evaporation rate serious loss soil water in tropical areas, this paper explored effect organic materials with different thickness on increase retention improvement caused by evaporation. Rubberwood sawdust (RWS), rubberwood bark (RWB), coconut fiber (CF), Mulch (MC) were selected as mulching materials. Field experiment laboratory performed, soil-moisture content temperature continuously monitored. However, from daily measurement at constant conditions (29°C ± 0.2°C, 74% 1% air RH) experiment, results variance analysis (ANOVA) showed that there was no significant difference between soil-water covered samples bare (P > 0.05). field experiments, indicated differences owing to covering material

Adsorption of arsenic on soil under different soil moisture conditions
The adsorption study was conducted on three Japanese soils with different soil properties to characterize the adsorption pattern of Arsenic (As). Double tube method was used to find out the effect of soil moisture levels on As adsorption. For this study, besides double tube method, conventional batch method also was used. The As adsorption showed two phase kinetics. An initial and rapid adsorpt...

متن کاملEvaporation of grass under non-restricted soil moisture conditions
The behaviour of various formulas for évapotranspiration of grass in nonrestricted soil water conditions is considered. These are the expressions based on the Penman formula, i.e. "old" Penman, Penman-Monteith, Thorn-Oliver and the version recommended more recently by the FAO. Moreover, the Priestley-Taylor and the Makkink formulas are considered, which are radiation-based. Comparisons are made...

متن کاملRegional landslide susceptibility: spatiotemporal variations under dynamic soil moisture conditions
Quantification of landslide susceptibility variability in space and time in response to static and dynamic conditions is a fundamental research challenge. Here, we identify and apply new modeling and remote sensing observation techniques to statistically characterize susceptibility distributions under dynamic moisture conditions. The methods are applied at two study regions: Cleveland Corral, C...
